During plastic surgery our lymphatic system gets compromised and slows down. By opening up the major lymph node we get the lymph flowing through the body which begins the healing process. Our lymphatic System works very closely to our immune system which helps to fight infection and disease.
Post surgical lymphatic massage typically should be done 7-10 days after surgery and continued for 4-6 consecutive weeks with at least two sessions per week. Depending on the individual and type of surgery, pain tolerance and skin type, more sessions may be required to create a true recovery from the surgery.
